I know a lot of people that buy from small and larger distillers who buy large bottles of bulk oil and re bottle them in small sizes. This usually raises the price even more. The same wholesalers you see advertising "bulk essential oil" are usually the same companies they buy from. It's just that they put down an investment. Based on the people I talked to they at some point end up trying to get rid of it because no matter how good their oil is, they have to compete with all the lies out there.
Anyone can call these companies and get a label printed and start up a business.
Companies are popping up everyone, especially during the holiday time. After the holidays, strangely, I don't see their website up anymore.
I have even seen re bottling companies go so far as to claim they own their own farms. This is probably the biggest lie I have came across. They have a fancy good looking website that can probably fool anyone to thinking they are some big manufacturer. Too bad I'm not the type of person to expose those companies on my site.
